Costa Rica Tennis Club Receives Municipal Sports Recognition in Celebration of Its 125th Anniversary

On April 21, 2026, the Costa Rica Tennis Club (CRTC) was recognized by the Municipal Council of San José with the Municipal Declaration of Sports Interest, as part of the celebration of its 125 years of history.
The recognition was presented by the current Mayor of San José, Diego Miranda, and received by the President of the Costa Rica Tennis Club and the Interclubes Association, Dr. E. Bernal García Córdoba, along with club representatives, who highlighted the institution’s historical significance and its sustained contribution to the development of sports in the central canton.

During the session, the lasting impact of the CRTC over more than a century was emphasized, establishing it as a key institution in the promotion of tennis and sports culture in the country.
Throughout its history, the Costa Rica Tennis Club has served as a reference point for athletic development, community engagement, and initiatives that strengthen the national sports landscape.

The declaration issued by municipal authorities recognizes not only its legacy but also its continued relevance within Costa Rica’s sports ecosystem.
