Costa Rica Tennis Club Honors Its Founder by Naming Its Main Building After Him

As part of the celebration of its 125th anniversary, the Costa Rica Tennis Club (CRTC) paid tribute to its founder and first president, Gray Casement Lockwood, by naming the Club's main building in his honor.

The decision was approved by the Club's Board of Directors in recognition of the vision and leadership of the man who founded the Costa Rica Tennis Club on March 5, 1901, laying the foundation for an institution that, more than a century later, remains a landmark in Costa Rican sports and community life.

The ceremony was led by Dr. E. Bernal García Córdoba, President of the Costa Rica Tennis Club, and was attended by members of the CRTC Board of Directors and representatives of the Interclubes Association, who joined in honoring the Club's rich history and enduring legacy.

During the event, speakers highlighted the importance of preserving the legacy of those who made the Club's founding possible and of continuing to uphold the values that have guided the institution throughout its 125-year history.

Through this tribute, the Costa Rica Tennis Club reaffirms its commitment to honoring its history and recognizing the individuals whose vision laid the foundation for an institution that continues to inspire future generations.
