VII Interclubes Song Festival 2025

An Evening of Tribute, Talent, and Friendship


The VII Interclubes Song Festival 2025 was held on Saturday, October 25, at the Costa Rica Tennis Club, which hosted and organized the event on behalf of the Interclubes Association, the promoting entity of this important cultural celebration.

The evening brought together representatives from the different member clubs in a night dedicated to talent, friendship, and unity—values that have defined the Association since its foundation.

A heartfelt tribute

This year’s edition was especially emotional, as it was held in honor of Mr. Miguel Rivera Chaves and Mr. Gerardo Porras Garita, two key figures of the Interclubes Association who left behind an enduring legacy of commitment, leadership, and love for music.

Both men promoted cultural exchange among clubs and encouraged artistic activities that strengthened fellowship and community. Their vision and passion will remain alive in every future edition of the festival.

Special performances

  • Opening act: Fabiola Acuña Garro (13), from Los Reyes Country Club, performed Tu Dama de Hierro, receiving flowers and a certificate in recognition of her outstanding presentation.

  • 2024 Winner: Emiliano Baldioceda Pacheco performed his winning song Just the Two of Us as part of the festival’s opening act.

  • Mrs. Emilia Solano Gutiérrez, widow of Mr. Miguel Rivera Chaves.

  • Mrs. Monserrat Solano López, widow of Mr. Gerardo Porras Garita.


Competition results

After the jury’s deliberation—composed of Alejandro Morales Rosales, José Bustos Contreras, and Giovanni Contreras—the following awards were presented:

  • 🥇 1st Place: Juan José Barrantes Cortés – Noelia (Costa Rica Tennis Club).Presented by Mrs. Monserrat Solano López.

  • 🥈 2nd Place: Amanda Pérez Zeledón – El Hombre que Yo Amo (Club Campestre Griego).Presented by Mrs. Emilia Solano Gutiérrez.

  • 🥉 3rd Place: Stephanía Rapso Gómez – El Triste (San José Indoor Club).Presented by Mr. Bernal García Córdoba.

Recognitions and atmosphere

All participants received a certificate and a small gift as a token of appreciation.The jury praised the vocal quality, stage preparation, and commitment of the performers.

The evening was marked by heartfelt emotion and deep respect for the two late directors, whose names evoked admiration and gratitude throughout the event.The Association reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to promoting art, culture, and social integration among its member clubs.

Closing celebration

The festival concluded with a lively dance party featuring Tipi Rogers, bringing an end to a night filled with music, memories, and camaraderie.


In his closing remarks, Mr. Bernal García Córdoba, President of the Interclubes Association, thanked all participating clubs, the organizing committee, and the audience.


He emphasized that the legacy of Mr. Miguel Rivera Chaves and Mr. Gerardo Porras Garita will continue to inspire future editions of the festival, keeping alive their vision of unity through art and friendship.

Judging Panel


Mr. Alejandro Morales Rosales(Tel. 7109-5940)Choral director and music educator, graduate of the National University.He has performed as both singer and conductor on the most prestigious stages in Costa Rica, establishing himself as a leading figure in the country’s choral music scene.His international career includes performances in the United States, Spain, Mexico, and Colombia, representing Costa Rican talent with excellence.Currently, he is a choral professor at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and assistant director of the UCR Coral Project. He also conducts the Moravia Municipal Choir and the Vivace Music Academy, where he continues to train new generations and promote musical excellence.


Mr. José Bustos ContrerasRadio programmer and producer with over 50 years of experience in the music industry.He served as a judge for seven years on the “Canto con Mariachi” contest of the television program Sábado Feliz.He currently serves as Program Director at Radio Puntarenas 91.9 FM, continuing his dedication to promoting Costa Rican talent.


Mr. Giovanni Contreras(Tel. 7034-0015)Music producer, pianist, and sound engineer with over 25 years of experience in the music industry.He has collaborated with numerous national and international artists across multiple genres, and is recognized as a composer, arranger, conductor, instructor, and singing contest judge.Throughout his 32-year career, he has directed and accompanied both local and international groups, earning a solid reputation in the musical community.He is the founder and musical director of GioProducciones, a recording studio where he has produced and guided many of Costa Rica’s most prominent artists and ensembles.



The Interclubes Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to the members of the jury for their invaluable contribution and to all participating clubs for keeping alive this tradition that unites us through music and friendship.
